Freeports support the expansion of international trade by offering exemptions from certain operational, regulatory and custom requirements within a specific area around a major port. Tees Valley Combined Authority, PD Ports and a number of businesses are leading a formal bid for Freeport status and are encouraging all stakeholders and the wider community to share their views ahead of the submission on 5^th February 2021.
