The former Post Office (GPO) building in Whitby Street is being refurbished and extended to turn it into a centre for business start-ups in the creative industries sector. The centre will offer a range of office and workshop space together with specialist business support. The facility will offer flexible rental terms and competitive prices.

Progress

  • 13-17 Whitby Street has been purchased with Local Growth Funding from the Tees Valley Combined Authority
  • Planning permission and Listed Building consent has been secured.
  • Construction works are ongoing. Clearance works inside the building have been completed to allow the re-development works to commence. The steel work for the new extension has been erected.
  • Gus Robinson's have been appointed as the contractor for project.
  • The steel work for the extension has been erected.
  • Fit-out of the Grade II Listed Building has commenced.
  • Marketing of the units has commenced.
