Hartlepool Borough Council are driving forward plans to regenerate the 4.7 acre vacant site at The Waterfront and the first phase of work is due to start on public realm improvements early 2019 ahead of the Waterfront Festival to be held on the 20th and 21st July 2019.
Significant investment is required to facilitate the development of The Waterfront, and Hartlepool Council is continuing to work with Consultants and key partners to develop plans, design and phasing of the whole site.
With the financial support received from the Tees Valley Combined Authority, development funding has enabled feasibility and viability studies to be undertaken in support of the capital development opportunities. Major buildings and public spaces being considered for The Waterfront include:
